The cyber criminals are sending fake emails about tax refund with the subject line ‘Raquel Betger shared “Tax Refund Notification.pdf” with you’ . They are trying to trap innocent users aimed at extracting bank details in the pretext of tax refund notification. The mails that you may receive about income tax refund is not sent by any government authorities as mentioned in the email.
Original text from the fraudulent email :
On clicking the malicious URL the ZIP file is downloaded “Tax Refund Notification.zip”
Unzipping the file will result in a malware file with PDF Icon and .scr file extension, tricking the user to think it is a pdf file.
