Cyber criminals send product requirement catalogs to steal company official email passwords

New phishing scam portrays itself as customer and shares malicious link impersonating requirement catalogs.

The scammers are using fake organization name just to add a touch of authenticity in their emails. In one of the emails found by NPAV research team the scammer presented itself as a leading trade exporter in Asia and Middle East on general Goods and Equipments.

The attacker requests the targeted organization to log in with their official email id through the malicious link shared in the email. The email says that after logging in the organization will get the requirement catalog for the products that the scammer wants to buy.

The scammer also requests the organization to share the best prices and cost of delivery that they can offer so that he can place the order ASAP, which may seem like a genuine request to some of the providers. The email ends with a random name and organizational address to add some authentic looking elements.

NPAV wants to let the users know that these emails are targeted only to steal sensitive data from you and your organization. There is no credibility of such emails and users must refrain from submitting any data through such links and emails.
