Phishing email with fake account deactivation alert is being circulated by hackers

NPAV research team has reported a new phishing scam which alerts users about their account deactivation.

The phishing email states that the mailbox capacity of the user’s account is full and if the storage space is not increased, account will be deactivated.

To stop the deactivation of their account, users are provided with a “Cancel Deactivation” option within the email. Clicking on this option redirects to a hacker-controlled login page which requests for password. This web page will steal all the information entered and will share it with the hacker.

NPAV recommends users to refrain from providing any information through such web pages. Install NPAV on your devices to keep them safe and secure from all kinds of cyber attacks.
