Hackers are sending out phishing emails with fake Share Point notification

NPAV research team has reported a new phishing scam using fake Share Point notification.

The phishing email notifies the user about incoming important files that have been received via Share Point. In order to generate a sense of urgency, the email states that the files will automatically get deleted after a few days.

If the user falls into the hacker’s trap and clicks on “View Files” option provided in the email, the email redirects user to a log in page. This page is a hacker-controlled page that can steal all the information entered by user and forward it to the hacker.

NPAV recommends users to stop trusting these emails as they are mere phishing scams and can steal sensitive information. Install NPAV on your devices to keep them safe and secure from all kinds of cyber attacks.
