Phishing email with fake out of storage alert surfaces to paint new targets

NPAV research team has reported a new phishing scam targeting users around the country.

Hackers have started a new phishing campaign using malicious emails which alert users about their Outlook account going out of storage. The email claims that the user has used all the email storage of their Outlook account and have incoming emails which are placed on hold.

The email also has an “Upgrade Mailbox Quota” option. Once the user clicks on this option, the email redirects to a login page requesting password for user’s email id.

NPAV recommends users to beware of such phishing scams and malicious pages. These are mere phishing scams and hacker-controlled pages which will steal every information entered through them.
