NIT Jamshedpur cyber attack by Pakistani hackers

The official website of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, one of India's prestigious technical institutions, has fallen victim to a cyber attack by a group of Pakistani hackers known as "Team Insane Pakistan." The hackers compromised the institute's "Achievers" page, replacing it with inflammatory content that included a provocative image of the Indian flag being burned, along with anti-India slogans.

The attackers left messages such as "Pakistan Zindabad" and identified themselves with the phrase "Hacked by Hoax 1337," causing a stir within the institution. They also shared a link to their social media account, mocking cybersecurity measures with the statement, "Security is just an illusion."

This incident raises serious concerns about the cybersecurity protocols at NIT, which is responsible for training some of the country's brightest engineers. Experts suggest that such breaches often occur due to outdated software or weak passwords. In response to the attack, NIT management has initiated an investigation and is working to restore the website and enhance its security measures.

This is not the first time Hoax 1337 has targeted Indian websites; they have previously attempted to hack various government and educational sites, aiming to promote an anti-India agenda rather than engage in technical theft. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by institutions in safeguarding their digital assets against cyber threats.
