Cybercrime in Chhattisgarh: ₹107 Crore Lost in 18 Months

RAIPUR – Chhattisgarh has emerged as a hotspot for cybercrime, with 1,301 cases reported in the last 18 months, resulting in over ₹107 crore in losses for victims statewide.

Despite these significant losses, law enforcement has made progress in recovering funds, with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma announcing that ₹3.69 crore has been refunded to victims.


Strategic Response
In response to the rising threat, the Chhattisgarh government has launched a comprehensive strategy, including the establishment of a State Cyber Police Station, five Range Cyber Police Stations, and specialized cyber cells at the district level. A Cyber Forensic Lab in Raipur will support complex investigations, while police officers receive advanced training in cybercrime.
