Mumbai Woman Loses ₹7.8 Crore in Fake Trading App Scam

A 62-year-old woman from Bandra, Mumbai, fell victim to a scam that cost her ₹7.8 crore after being enticed by fraudsters promoting a fake trading app that promised substantial returns.

She received WhatsApp messages advertising investment opportunities and was instructed to download a malicious app. As she continued to invest larger sums, she was shown fake profit dashboards.

When she attempted to withdraw her funds, the scammers demanded "tax" payments and subsequently vanished, leaving her with no access to her entire investment.
