Threat Actor Claims Huawei Source Code Breach and Sells Internal Tools on Dark Web for $1,000

A threat actor claims to have breached Huawei Technologies, exfiltrating internal source code, development tools, build files, scripts, and technical manuals, now up for sale on a dark web forum for $1,000 (negotiable) via Session messaging—posted in early October 2025.

Cybersecurity monitors are investigating the authenticity, amid Huawei's long history of scrutiny: U.S. warnings since 2012 on espionage risks, 2019 Vodafone backdoor revelations (2009-2012, deemed "technical mistakes"), July 2025 Luxembourg telecom outage linked to Huawei routers, and 2009 NSA infiltration of Huawei servers for Chinese military ties and code theft.

If confirmed, the leak could reveal product vulnerabilities and enable attacks on Huawei's global infrastructure, fueling ongoing IP theft and security concerns against the Chinese tech giant.
