Telemetry data shows that about 71% of users were unable to access the mobile app, while others faced server timeouts or feed loading issues. One of the most common complaints was the complete failure of Instagram’s Direct Messaging (DM) system.

While Meta Platforms has not yet released an official explanation, analysts suggest the outage likely resulted from internal infrastructure problems rather than a cyberattack.
