Patna Man Arrested in ₹1-Crore Cyber Fraud Involving Fake Car Dealership Websites

The Cyber Crime Police in Lucknow have arrested 33-year-old Rahul Kumar from Patna for his alleged involvement in a ₹1-crore cyber fraud scheme. He was apprehended during a special operation on Saturday.

Scheme Overview
The cyber fraud involved creating fake websites for reputable automobile companies, which were promoted through search engines and social media to target individuals seeking dealership opportunities. The case emerged on July 19 when a complainant reported losing over ₹1 crore after applying for a dealership through a seemingly legitimate website. A case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66D of the Information Technology Act.
