Fake “Payment Pending” notification emails are being used by hackers as new phishing bait

A new phishing scam is being launched by hackers to steal user credentials.

NPAV lab has reported various phishing scams that are being launched by hackers to fulfill their malicious intentions. A new phishing scam was found out by our research team in which the hackers are sending out fake “Payment Pending” notifications via phishing emails.

The email pretends to have attached invoices for the payments along with an option of viewing them. Once a user clicks on the view option for the invoices, a hacker controlled web page loads requesting user to login.

The login page that loads demands user email and password which if entered can be stolen and accessed by the hacker. NPAV recommends users to never trust these emails as these are mere phishing attacks with sole purpose of stealing from their target.
