Threat actors deployed 239 malicious apps on Google Play, disguised as productivity tools in the "Tools" category, amassing over 42 million downloads. These apps use evasion techniques to bypass detection, targeting users in remote work environments.


Malware includes adware (69%), spyware, and banking trojans, requesting permissions for contacts, location, and finance access. They persist via system hooks, collecting data and enabling unauthorized transactions.
