Noida Cyber Fraud: Mobile Firm Loses ₹78 Lakh to Email Scam
A mobile service centre in Noida's Sector 59 fell victim to a ₹78.9 lakh business email compromise (BEC) scam, transferring funds to a spoofed manufacturer's account. The email mimicked the legitimate domain, instructing an update to payment details, which the company followed believing it genuine.

Police filed an FIR under BNS and IT Act, tracing the email trail and recipient accounts. The scam highlights rising corporate frauds, often coordinated abroad, with funds hard to recover.

Protect your business: Use two-step verification, monitor domains, and train employees on email verification. Quick bank alerts can prevent such losses.
