American organization Brown-Forman targeted by Sodinokibi ransomware causing data breach of 1 TB
Sodinokibi (REvil) ransomware has hacked one of the leading spirits and wine maker from America.
Threat actors have claimed that they were able to steal 1 TB of data from the organization. Data accessed by the gang includes confidential employees’s info, company agreements, contracts, financial statements, and internal messages.
The ransomware actors have claimed that they were learning about the organization's infrastructure for over a month. Sodinokibi ransomware operators posted on their leak site multiple screenshots showing directories and files allegedly belonging to the company, and internal conversations between some employees.
The ransomware actors have demanded a ransom from the organization and are willing to negotiate with them. Brown-Forman has reported the incident to data security researchers and they are suspecting that some of the data from the breach has been exposed.
The ransomware actors behind the attack have stated that they are ready to delete their copy of data if the demanded ransom is payed by the organization. Brown-Forman officials have confirmed that their are no negotiations being conducted from their end.
