Phishing emails with fake payment notifications are being circulated by hackers

In a recently reported attack, researchers from NPAV have found a new phishing campaign launched by hackers.

The phishing email contains a fake reference id of the payment along with various other information. These additional details are generally used by hackers to make the email look genuine.

Once the user clicks on the attachment that contains the payment information, a login page is opened which requests the user password. This login page is hacker-controlled and any information added in this page can be accessed by the hacker.

NPAV recommends users to refrain from visiting such malicious links and never provide any sensitive information via them. Install NPAV on your devices to keep them safe and secure from all kinds of cyberattacks.
