Fake warnings of rejected incoming emails are being used by hackers to steal login credentials

NPAV research team has recently reported a phishing scam launched by hackers to steal user login credentials.

The phishing email states that there are various incoming emails whose delivery has been restricted. The email also warns the user about the permanent deletion of these emails.

If the user decides to recover these emails, a login page is opened which auto-fetches the email id of the user. If the user provides the password linked to the email id, the hacker gets access to the user’s account.

NPAV recommends users to refrain from submitting sensitive information through untrusted links and sites. Install NPAV on your devices to keep them safe and secure from all kinds of cyberattacks.
